Bavarian Nights of Summer
Fuessen Biergarten

An oomph band featuring Bavarian music will get your toes tapping and soon you will be up dancing a polka...it is very contagious! Bavarian Nights of Summer starts Saturday June 14, 2008 and runs through August 9, 2008. It takes place every Saturday evening from 7:00-11:00 pm in the Festhalle. The bands are crowd pleasers with German favorites like "Roll Out the Barrel" as well as some familiar American tunes. The evening is much like Oktoberfest, but on much a smaller scale. Food and Drink extra: * Grilled wurst topped with sauerkraut; along with imported & domestic beers, wines and soft drinks add flavor to the evening. * Families Welcome Bus groups welcome * For more information contact Helen Welcome Center @ 800-858-8027 or 706-878-2181 or visit the web site-www.helenga.org * Helen Chamber of Commerce-706-878-1619 or visit our web site www.helenchamber.com for this and other events like Oktoberfest 2008

Sundays on the River
Fuessen Biergarten, 1074 Edelweiss Strasse, Helen, GA

This is a Sunday afternoon event beside the beautiful Chattahoochee River in the shady Füssen Biergarten. Reminiscence of Sunday afternoons in the great biergartens along the Rhine River in Germany, the Chamber is opening the Füssen Biergarten to a glorious time of food, drink, and music for you and your friends. The Füssen Biergarten will open at 1:00 pm till 4:00 pm with live Bavarian music. Your favorite bands from Saturday night’s Bavarian Nights of Summer will be playing Sunday afternoons from 1: 00 pm – 4:00 pm. As with Bavarian Nights of Summer; this is a FREE Admission event. Beer and wine, along with food will be served for your enjoyment. Come sit with friends and catch up on the latest news: or enjoy the great Bavarian music and dance: or just relax in the cool shade of the tall trees and watch the memorizing water of the Chattahoochee River. Sundays on the River is a great way to spend a few relaxing hours. . Food and Drink extra: * Grilled wurst topped with sauerkraut; along with imported & domestic beers, wines and soft drinks add flavor to the evening. * Families Welcome Bus groups welcome * For more information contact Helen Welcome Center @ 800-858-8027 or 706-878-2181 or visit the web site-www.helenga.org * Helen Chamber of Commerce-706-878-1619 or visit our web site www.helenchamber.com. for this and other events like Oktoberfest 2008

Oktoberfest 2008
Chamber Festhalle, 1074 Edelweiss STrasse

Oktoberfest! It's the German word for fun! Well, that may not be the actual translation, but to the folks attending Helen's Oktoberfest every year it may as well be. Oktoberfest in Helen may have started out small in the 70's, but over the years, and through word of mouth, it has grown into the biggest party in the Southeast. And this, is not one of those one-week festivals; this celebration lasts 2 months. The north Georgia mountains make a great vacation spot year-round, because of the unparalleled beauty and mild weather; however during Oktoberfest Mother Nature kicks it up a notch. Deep azure skies and color splashed mountains surround a picturesque "alpine" village, making the days as inviting as the nights. During the day, you may decide to browse the shops, relax in a Biergarten, or simply enjoy Helen's perfect weather and beautiful scenery. At night, however, all paths leads to Helen's massive Festhalle. Located within walking distance of most hotels, the Festhalle is the spot for authentic German bands, food, beer and fun. You can either spend the evening dancing the Polka and Chicken dance, or you can relax in the adjacent beer garden and enjoy the crisp night air. Whichever section of the huge Festhalle you like best, be sure to sample the fresh cooked wurst, and large variety of German beers. So, if you've never been to Helen, or just never been to an Oktoberfest, be sure to book your hotel room early and plan to be at Helen's Oktoberfest. We're sure you'll want to come back year after year. Prosit! Proudly sponsored by Helen Chamber of Commerce, Miller Brewing
